Joseph McCoy concentrates his practice on real estate, including the representation of institutional real estate lenders in all types of complex lending transactions, from construction financing and mortgage lending to mezzanine financing, participant loan transactions and syndicated loan transactions.

Mr. McCoy’s practice also includes representing clients in land acquisitions and developments, and the disposition of various types of properties including universities, office buildings, apartment buildings and shopping centers. He also represents both landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions.

Mr. McCoy serves as a consultant and advisor to sports and entertainment clients in all aspects of their business.  He is a Certified Contract Advisor for players in the National Basketball Players Association (NBAPA), the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBAPA) and the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA).

Mr. McCoy is an active alumnus of Northwestern University serving as an Admissions Interviewer for the Law School Alumni Interviewing Program.  In addition, he serves as an Instructor in the Introduction to Legal Learning Program and serves as a guest lecturer on various topics for the student body.

Mr. McCoy is the Chairman of the Firm Hiring Committee and also serves on the Firm Marketing Committee and the Firm Diversity Committee.
