Steven Gistenson concentrates his practice in the area of commercial litigation, including trial and appellate litigation and arbitration. He has represented clients in both the public and private sectors in a wide range of disputes, including disputes arising in the context of partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations, the securities industry, franchising, licensing, construction, legal malpractice and eminent domain.

Mr. Gistenson’s clients have included Tiger Electronics, Ltd., WestAmerica Mortgage Corporation, Hasbro, Inc., Park Place Entertainment Corporation, McDonald’s Corporation, Bally Total Fitness Corporation, Burger King Corporation, HSA Commercial Real Estate, Transwestern Commercial Services, L.L.C., Near North National Group, Cloverhill Pastry-Vend Corporation and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. Mr. Gistenson has been involved in numerous jury and bench trials, and he has followed his cases through the appellate level. He has represented clients before federal and state courts across the nation. Additionally, Mr. Gistenson has represented clients before federal and state regulatory agencies, in arbitration and mediation proceedings, and before the Chicago Board of Trade and the National Association of Securities Dealers.

While in law school, Mr. Gistenson assisted in the prosecution of felony cases for the Cook County State’ s Attorney’s Office as part of a program under Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711. He has also served on the boards of the Jewish Council for Youth Services and Jewish Community Centers—North Shore.
