Caveat EmptorPrivate WealthOctober 2007 Rick Rein, head of Schwartz Cooper's International Asset Recovery Group, was interviewed by Private Wealth for an article that appeared in the publication's October/November 2007 issue. The article, "Caveat Emptor," examines the benefits and risks associated with foreign and domestic asset protection trusts. Mr. Rein cautions advisors to do their own due diligence before setting up trusts for their clients. He says, "I have seen advisors get into hot water because they knew, or should have known, that the trust was being set up for the purpose of avoidance of creditors."
