Pork at Issue in Doughnut Franchise RowChicago TribuneAugust 1, 2007 Schwartz Cooper attorney Carmen Caruso was quoted in a Chicago Tribune article, "Pork at Issue in Doughnut Franchise Row," reporting on a lawsuit involving a Dunkin' Donuts franchisee who has sued the franchise for racial discrimination for non-renewal of his franchises, allegedly over his refusal to sell breakfast sandwiches containing pork. Initially the lawsuit was dismissed, but the dismissal has been overturned on appeal and the case reinstated. Although Mr. Caruso is not involved in the lawsuit, he has significant experience with cases involving racial discrimination in franchising and has authored an article on the topic.
