Summer ProgramWe believe that your Summer Associate experience will provide you with a realistic view of life as an attorney at our firm, as well as an opportunity to develop the qualities needed to become a successful practitioner. A realistic experience also gives us the best opportunity to fully and fairly evaluate our Summer Associates. Therefore, our emphasis is firmly on involving you in projects that would typically be assigned to a first year Associate. To read about the experiences of some of our past Summer Associates, please visit our Testimonials section. Each Summer Associate will have the opportunity to work with two mentors: one Associate mentor and one Partner mentor. Mentors perform many functions, from helping Summer Associates acclimate to their new working environment, to answering specific assignment-related questions, to introducing them to the local lunch options. Additionally, the Summer Associates will meet regularly with the Summer Program Coordinator, who oversees workload, and is responsible for appropriately regulating the flow of assignments. We try to provide an opportunity to do more than just research and writing memos, by giving front-line experience and exposure to clients. We feel a wide range of experiences in different practice areas provides the greatest educational return, and we find that our Summer Associates greatly enjoy the range of assignments and the variety of attorneys with whom they work. Although the Summer Program’s emphasis is on gaining a realistic work experience, we also genuinely enjoy each other’s company and provide regular opportunities for socializing with members of the firm. See our Events section for information about what is on tap for this summer!
